The prospects for China as a source market
World Tourism Organization (WTO) – (Travel Daily News)
As mentioned in my previous post, these findings show a similar trend as for the Japanese market.
Once you deduct trips to HongKong and Macau, which today shouldn’t even be counted as foreign trips, and then those to nearby Asian countries, the numbers become much less staggering. Let’s also remember that economically China today is about where Japan was in the early 1970s in terms of size of a middle class with enough income to afford overseas travel.
China will be a great source market and it will be possible to accommodate the numbers in the time frame this study mentions.
