PhoCusWright, the leading research authority on the evolving dynamics that influence how travelers, suppliers and intermediaries connect, asked Joe Buhler in 2009 to develop the strategy for the company's presence on the social web with a dedicated community site, LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter accounts. He managed the social web communications with regular updates on all the social web tools as well as managing the corporate social web marketing dashboard. These combined efforts established a solid presence for PhoCusWright on the social web and active participation with the community of travel industry leaders. The Twitter following reached over 2500 from zero in the span of ten months. Joe was instrumental in convincing the company to offer live coverage of its flagship event, the PhoCusWright Annual Conference with an attendance of over 1000 to a global audience using a live Twitter streaming tool.
Joe Buhler was asked by Michael J. Pierson Associates to provide services for the company's key event - The Mountain Travel Symposium, the oldest and largest global event for all service providers in the mountain-oriented travel industry, an annual conference attracting regularly an audience exceeding 1500 attendees. The event presence was established on the various social networks and the Twitter channel was actively used to disseminate event related news, conference registration information, and special early-bird discount offers. Joe was also responsible for the online coverage of a monthly webinar series conducted in cooperation with The Mountain Travel Research Institute covering industry updates and presentations by various expert industry speakers.
